For Teens

Teen Collections

Teen & Tween books can be found in the Children's Department or in the Young Adult (YA) collection on the main floor.  Reading levels and interests vary within the age range, and it is difficult to decide where to put items, but generally the cut off grade level is 6th grade for the Children's Department.  Percy Jackson is one popular series located in the Children's Department along with more nonfiction that is suitable for teens.

Within the YA collection the library has graphic novels and manga titles.  The library also offers anime and DVDs as well as CD music.

The library also provides ebooks and downloadable audio through Bridges and the Libby app.  Check the library's catalog to find the location of the book, or ask a librarian for help or a book suggestion!

Teen Programs

Ongoing Programs for Teens

Teen Advisory Group (TAG)
Open to all teens & tweens in grades 6-12. We meet at the library on a monthly basis to help plan library programs, decorate the Teen Zone for the upcoming seasons, as well as discuss materials missing from our Young Adult collection. This group is often first to try out some of our new gadgets, and to learn about what is coming to the library. Membership has its privileges! Snacks are always served too!

Stop by and join us! We look forward to having you as part of our group!

Anime/Manga:
All tweens and teens who are fans of graphic novels and Japanese animation and manga are encouraged to join this fun group that meets monthly. The activities vary, but usually consist of viewing an anime series, snacking on ramen noodles, playing with a new gadget, and having a lively discussion with those of similar interests.

If you love anime, or are interested in what it is all about, feel free to stop in.

Plus we normally enjoy some kind of Asian themed snack, we especially like ramen!

Teen Code Club:
Open to all Teens & Tweens excited about learning how to make websites, video grames, apps, animations and more!  It's informal, fun and interactive.  Make friends and build cool stuff with us!

Special Teen Programming:
Througout the year we also plan one-time events each month for teens that vary from crafts, games, movie events, author visits, and much more!
