Childrens collections

 

Juvenile Board Books: Designed for very young children, these books are printed on thick paperboard which makes turning pages easier for small hands. Very few words, simple pictures.	Juvenile Picture Books: Target age is pre-school. These books use a lot of rhyming, minimal words, and large illustrations with lots of "white space". (Green dot)	Juvenile Easy: Target age is elementary school students. These books use more advanced vocabulary and more detailed illustrations than the picture books. Short paragraphs are introduced.
Juvenile Easy Reader: For emergent readers; children who are starting to be able to read on their own, with or without assistance. These books have more complex plot, and longer sentences. (Red dot)	Juvenile Easy Chapter: Transitional chapter books. A bridge between emergent reader and full chapter books. (Blue dot)	Juvenile Fiction: Chapter books with elementary level vocabulary, very few pictures.
